Susann Sills Obituary (1971 – 2016) – San Clemente, CA – Los Angeles Times

The district attorney’s office released a statement after finding E. ScottΒ  guilty of killing his wife Susann Sills in 2016. Sills could receive a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison.

2019 saw his arrest and filing of charges.

According to the district attorney’s office, Sills reported his wife seemed to have fallen down the stairs when he contacted 911 early on November 16, 2016.

But according to the office, there were bloodstains on the wall and drapes in the bedroom of the San Clemente house where Susann Sills had been sleeping, and the evidence indicated that she had been strangled to death.

Jack Earley, the lawyer for E. Scott, contended before the jury that his client’s wife had migraines, which is why she was sleeping in a different bedroom, had skipped meals, and had taken medicines that might have caused her to become disoriented, according to the Los Angeles Times. According to the publication, he informed the jury that Susann Sills had fallen, but it was unclear how.

A request for comment made to Earley’s office after business hours on Tuesday evening was not immediately answered.

The district attorney’s office stated that the sentencing date is set for March 15.
